The Story of Our Changes - Our KAIZEN Story
In 2001, ISOWA celebrated the 80th Anniversary of the founding of the company. Within the company during that time, the workforce was dominated by robot-like employees who thought things like, "I shouldn't say a word," "I should keep out of other people's work," and "I just have to put up with doing my job" and who did the work they were given in just the way they were told to do it, things that were the exact opposite of the principles for action set up by the company. Under those circumstances, on October 7th of that year, an 80th Anniversary Memorial Lecture was given that became a huge source of motivation in the reformation of our company after that.
At ISOWA, we always had a company trip every year before; however, we stopped having one at a certain point when the economy went into a recession. About ten years after that, in 2007, we revived the company trip. Actually, it wasn't an actual trip that we went on. Everyone from ISOWA gathered together for a big party at a five-star hotel located about an hour from the company. Here at ISOWA, there are a lot of people who enjoy drinking alcohol, and on the day of the party, everyone drank so much that the hotel completely ran out of the beer they had on hand! This party was also organized as part of the plan to increase employee satisfaction, and all the employees were extremely MANZOKU-ed (satisfied) with how things went.
