In 2001, ISOWA celebrated the 80th Anniversary of the founding of the company. Within the company during that time, the workforce was dominated by robot-like employees who thought things like, "I shouldn't say a word," "I should keep out of other people's work," and "I just have to put up with doing my job" and who did the work they were given in just the way they were told to do it, things that were the exact opposite of the principles for action set up by the company. Under those circumstances, on October 7th of that year, an 80th Anniversary Memorial Lecture was given that became a huge source of motivation in the reformation of our company after that.

But sometimes, we don't just copy stuff as is; we also do make some modifications to it. As can be seen, we covered the corners of the sheet-metal parts because they were a little dangerous. The photo on the upper left shows a situation at another company. If the parts are covered as shown in the photo, the covers are likely to come off and fall while the parts are being moved. And so, as shown in the bottom photography, we attached clothes pins in order to prevent the covers from shifting around, so the covers no longer fall off halfway through while the parts are being moved.

These are all just some of the little things, and those things might have already been done at a lot of other plants. But we believe that by discovering these things ourselves, actually trying them out, and realizing how much things have improved, these activities will gradually take root throughout the whole company and continue to be put into use.
