@HomeThe Story of Our Changes - Our KAIZEN Story
In 2001, ISOWA celebrated the 80th Anniversary of the founding of the company. Within the company during that time, the workforce was dominated by robot-like employees who thought things like, "I shouldn't say a word," "I should keep out of other people's work," and "I just have to put up with doing my job" and who did the work they were given in just the way they were told to do it, things that were the exact opposite of the principles for action set up by the company. Under those circumstances, on October 7th of that year, an 80th Anniversary Memorial Lecture was given that became a huge source of motivation in the reformation of our company after that.

Eight employees out of those who participated in the <<After-Hours Meeting>> took action. However, at that time, they still really didn't have any idea at all about what they should actually do. So, at first, they sat down and discussed what they should pursue as their common goal. Many different industries in Japan at that time were undergoing industry reorganization, and ISOWA, too, was literally pursuing the "Survival of the Company" during that time. This was clearly one of the big goals for the company. But those eight employees felt that, of course, "improving the standard of living for employees" would always be the biggest goal as far as the employees themselves were concerned. The group adopted the team name of <<RENOVATION>> and began to take action by engaging in activities aimed at these two goals. This was in June of 2002.
